Wooden wicks are a bit different from a traditional cotton wick they burn longer, cleaner, and have a cozy crackling ambiance. But they do require a bit of extra care. Here are our tips and tricks 

to get the most out of your RECVRD candle:

1. Always trim your wick before each use, removing any charred wood from previous burns. If you don’t, the wick may not stay lit long enough to fuel the flame, causing it to extinguish itself. To trim a wooden wick remove all charred wood we suggest using a wick trimmer or nail clippers.
2. Always make sure to allow the wax to melt across the ENTIRE diameter of your candle on the first burn- this helps prevent tunneling, which can impact how well the candle burns.

 long for the entire life of your wooden wick candle.

All of our candles at RECVRD Candle Co. are made from 100% soy wax. Since soy wax is a natural product, you may notice slight variations throughout the year. The wax may be very soft in its solid state, or as hard as a rock other times. Sometimes the wax melts so clear and translucent, and other times it may melt and look a little cloudy. All of this is normal and expected when choosing a soy candle.

Our soy waxes are gluten free, toxin free, paraben free, phthalate free and come from renewable sources. The entire blend utilizes 

only FDA approved waxes. Skin-safe, clean burning and

 biodegradable Renewable, vegan and non-toxic

Why is my soy candle bumpy after burning?

The bumpy tops after burning are quite common with soy wax. It's not caused by anything in your process - it happens when the rate of cooling is inconsistent and unfortunately, it's difficult to control once the candle has been lit and then extinguished. Sometimes it will dry with the rough, uneven surface and sometimes it will dry smooth as glass. The good news is that this is a by-product of all-natural wax, 

and it does not affect the performance of the candle.
